• You may use the Service as a guest, with data stored locally, or create an account for cloud synchronization.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

4. API Keys & Third-Party Services

The Service operates on a "Bring Your Own Key" (BYOK) model. You are responsible for:

• Obtaining and managing your own API keys from supported AI providers
• Complying with the terms of service of any third-party AI provider you use
• Any costs incurred through your use of third-party API services
• Keeping your API keys secure and not sharing them with others

5. Intellectual Property & Content Ownership

5.1 Your Content

You retain all rights to the original content you create using the Service, including your story ideas, character concepts, outlines, and revisions.

5.2 AI-Generated Content

Content generated by AI models through the Service is subject to the terms and policies of the respective AI provider. We make no claims of ownership over AI-generated content. You are responsible for reviewing and understanding the intellectual property implications of the AI provider you choose.

5.3 Our Service

The InkMarshal platform, including its design, code, logos, and branding, is our intellectual property and may not be copied or reproduced without permission.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Generate content that violates any applicable laws or regulations
• Create content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
• Attempt to circumvent any security measures of the Service
• Use automated methods to access the Service beyond normal usage patterns
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• AI-generated content will be accurate, original, or suitable for publication
• Your data will be preserved indefinitely

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, InkMarshal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of creative content, or costs incurred through third-party API usage.

9. Data & Export

You may export your creative content at any time using the built-in export features. We encourage regular backups. We are not responsible for data loss in guest mode due to browser data clearing.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time, which will permanently remove all associated data from our servers.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes will be communicated through the Service.
